100% Completion in the Kirby Series is a real-life aspect that you can achieve in certain games created by Nintendo. Unlike the Completion in Mario, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Zelda, and Metroid series, the Kirby Series has its own set of objectives that especially calculate total completion of every unique game.
1992-1999: First Kirby Games
Kirby's Dream Land (Game Boy)
According to the Wiki Kirby site, there is no official 100% completion in Kirby’s Dream Land due to the lack of save files. There are, however, a couple things that would ensure a proper completion as to audit the game. Beating the game normally will allow you to unlock and play Extra Game by providing a “Good Job!” screen and a command input: up, A, and Select on the Title Screen. This input command could also be done in the beginning, even though it is better to learn how to do it the normal way.
Remember, when playing Extra Mode, there will new enemies that will be tougher than those in the Normal mode while some can home in on Kirby. Enemies in the Extra Game can deal double damage to Kirby. Bosses and mini-bosses have stronger and different attack patterns that you need to look out for. That is why Extra Game in Kirby’s Dream Land is hard to get by. However, if you have guts and managed to beat Extra Game, you’ll receive a message that provides you the command input: down, B and Select. This will unlock and access Configuration Mode, allowing you to alter Kirby’s Maximum HP and number of lives. You can also access the Sound Test. Also upon completing the Extra Game, you’ll view the roll call of almost all the enemies in the game along with their names after the staff credits.

Kirby's Adventure (NES)
In Kirby’s Adventure, you can reach 100% Completion by completing the main game and press all of the Big Switches. This will then unlock the Extra Game. While completing the Extra Game has nothing to do with the save file percentage, it will change your rank title and unlock the Sound Test.
Your rank title will be given depending on the percantage:
- 1%-9%: Water Drop
- 10%-19%: Son of Wind
- 20%-29%: Li’l Traveller
- 30%-39%: Swift Hunter
- 40-49%: Star Herald
- 50%-59%: Dream Hunter
- 60%-69%: Dream Warrior
- 70%-79%: Star General
- 80%-89%: Great Ace
- 90%-99%: Final Star
- 100%: Hero of Lore
- 100% + Extra Game cleared: Super Star

If you are able to beat the game with the COM level set to Easy, then Normal, and then Hard, you may get to try the game again with the COM Level set to Hardest. If you manage to beat the game on Hardest, you’ll receive a thank you message. Remember, no matter what difficulty you clear the game on, you’ll receive a special code at the end of the staff credits. That is, if you hold A, B, X, and Y on the second controller during gameplay and then reset the console with these buttons held, you will unlock a special “custom” menu in the options.
