Wii and 3DS Online Play is Discontinued FOREVER!

Nintendo has closed down the Nintendo Network on both Wii U and 3DS games making some of them not playable online anymore. I’m afraid if you haven’t got all the achievements in mandatory games mentioned in the online play discontinuation post, it is TOO LATE! If you still wish to get a 100% completion of other non-online collectibles in some Wii U and 3DS games that you haven’t played or beaten yet, now is a great time to do it while you still can. Let me mentioned this one last time. The games with online achievements that must have been obtained by now are the following:

  • Super Mario Maker (Wii U & 3DS)
    • All non-amiibo costumes from 100 Mario Challenge in respective difficulties (Wii U)
    • All costumes in Event courses (Wii U)
    • 100 Mario Challenge cleared in any difficulty at least once (3DS)
  • Hyrule Warriors (Wii U and Legends)
    • Big Bro Medal
  • Super Smash Bros for Wii U/3DS
    • Global Smash Rating Milestones
  • Animal Crossing: New Leaf + Welcome amiibo
    • Dream Suite unlocked
    • All dream badges obtained
    • All Club Tortimer Items purchased and Club Tortimer app purchased
    • Dream Town address included in Town Pass Card

The games with rewards from online play that could have been obtained by now are following:

  • Xenoblade Chronicles X
    • At least one or two online achievements unlocked
  • Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games
    • One of the prizes earned by playing one online match (either Costume or Music piece)
  • Mario Tennis Open
    • Bowser, Bowser Jr., Dry Bowser, and Wiggler Costumes

The games with rewards that can still be unlocked in ways other than online play are the following:

  • Mario Kart 7
    • Gold Standard via coin criteria
  • The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes
    • 30 Hero points earned to unlock the Bear minimum upgrade via local or download multiplayer play.
